Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Stakeholders,
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I get to become a member of the Jefferson Middle School community! I am truly honored to serve as the Interim Principal for the 2015/2016 school year. I am looking forward to positively impacting every student’s performance and school experience.
Last year, I worked as an assistant principal at West High School, where I served as part of the school leadership team and lead the school’s Positive Behavior Support and behavior response systems. I previously worked as principal of Mitchell Elementary School and assistant principal at Gilmore Middle School in Racine. I hold a bachelor’s degree in social work from Southern Illinois University, a master’s degree in social work from Aurora University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from National-Louis University. Deciding to become an administrator came from a strong desire to make a positive impact on an entire school community as well as the desire to help build the capacity of teachers and students.
We often hear the African Proverb “It takes a village to raise a child.” This school year I will need all stakeholders to play a part in helping our students meet and exceed our expectations of High Academic Excellence. I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you as the summer and school year progresses. You will find that my door is always open and I am always here to support you in any possible way. I am hoping to plan several “Meet and Greet” opportunities as soon as possible so that you can put a face with the name and get a chance to know each other.
Please enjoy a relaxing and productive summer and feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns.
